what's behind our name?
The healing frequency of 432 HZ has been said to promote deep relaxation. Its calming effects have been shown to reduce anxiety, lower the heart rate, and elevate our overall sense of well-being.
Similarly, these are just some of the many benefits people may experience with Reiki.
Our goal at the 432 effect is to promote a state of well-being for the body, mind, and soul.
Welcome to the 432 effect.
what is reiki?
Reiki (pronounced RAY KEY) is a gentle energy practice that promotes relaxation and stress reduction in order to facilitate the body's natural ability to heal itself, on all levels. Although energy healing is an ancient practice, the practice we now call Reiki was rediscovered in the early nineteenth century in Japan. The word "Reiki" can be loosely translated from the Japanese words "rei," meaning universal and "ki" meaning life force energy. Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. During a Reiki treatment, the natural healing energy of Reiki is transferred from the Reiki practitioner to the client.
what can I expect during my reiki session?
During your Reiki session, your comfort is top priority. You will lay on a treatment table, fully clothed for the entirety of your session. If you cannot lay flat on your back or stomach, please inform us so that we can accommodate you in a comfortable position. A session may be hands-on using a light touch, hands-off, or a combination of both. Please advise if you would prefer a completely hands-off session, for any reason.
Many people experience deep relaxation during their session. There may be an ease of pain, discomfort, and/or tension in the body. Some people may experience tingling sensations or notice a coolness, or warmth. Some may experience an emotional release, such as crying or laughing, or a feeling of peace and clarity. It is important to note, though, that these experiences or sensations should not be considered a means to measure the effectiveness of your Reiki session. Everyone is different and each session is unique. If you are open and willing to receive, you can trust that you will receive the healing energy you need most during your session.
how can I get the most out of my session?
Consider refraining from recreational drugs, alcohol, and caffeine for 24 hours (or at least 3 hours) before your scheduled session.
Leading up to your session, avoid having a heavy meal. A light meal or snack is preferred, so as to prevent your body’s energy needing to prioritize digestion over rest, relaxation, and healing.
Arrive on time for your session. Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and other scheduled commitments may not allow us to accommodate tardiness. Arriving late to your scheduled appointment may result in a shortened session.
Turn your devices to ‘do not disturb’ during your scheduled treatment time so that you can enjoy your full session, without interruption. Having your phone set to ‘silent’ may still allow for phone features to vibrate and flash, which you may find distracting while in such a relaxing and decompressing environment.
is reiki associated with a religious practice?
Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not associated with any religious practice. Anyone can benefit from Reiki. Reiki is practiced by those of all walks of life and individuals with varying religious and non-religious backgrounds and beliefs. While some practitioners may chose to incorporate their personal religious beliefs and/or systems into their Reiki practice, Reiki is not affiliated with any religion. Reiki is, after all, universal by definition. Reiki at the 432 effect is open to anyone, of any belief system.
Many view Reiki as a spiritual practice that complements any faith based in love and healing. If you have any specific questions, or hesitations, about Reiki as it relates to your specific cultural and/or religious beliefs/practices, you may find it most helpful to ask someone knowledgable in your religious practice(s), who also has a clear understanding of what Reiki is, or better yet, has experienced Reiki for themselves.
how often is reiki recommended?
It is absolutely up to you how often you'd like to have a session! The benefits of Reiki are both immediate and cumulative. Note that, like many things we can do for our overall well-being, (exercise, healthy eating, meditation, massage, etc.), consistency often yields the best results.
Effects of Reiki can last long after your session is over. With consistent sessions, you may become more in tune with your body and feel that you'd benefit from scheduling another Reiki session soon. Some people choose to do more frequent Reiki sessions initially, and then schedule 'maintenance' sessions further apart. Some may just want to have the experience of a single Reiki session and that's ok, too!
